Tenants must receive at least 60 days written notice before a rent increase

24 CFR 92.252(e)(3) reads "the owner must provide tenants of those units not less than 60 days prior written notice before implementing any increase in rents." The 60-day figure was set by 'HOME Investment Partnerships Program: Program Updates and Streamlining', 90 FR 746 (6 January 2025), effective 5 February 2025, which also re-lettered 92.252 -- the same amendment that moved period-of-affordability to (d), tenant income to (g) and over-income tenants to (h). Verified 2026-08-29 against the current text of 92.252(e)(3); the predecessor rule stated 30 days and cited 92.253(d), a paragraph that has never carried a rent-increase notice at all.
