The Indian Housing Plan must include evidence of compliance with NAHASDA, including certifications that policies are in effect and available for review by the Secretary and the public governing (a) the eligibility, admission and occupancy of families for assisted housing, (b) rents and homebuyer payments charged, including the methods by which they are determined, and (c) the management and maintenance of assisted housing. The IHP must also certify that the recipient will maintain adequate insurance coverage for housing units owned, operated or assisted with grant amounts. What each policy says is a matter for the recipient; the certification establishes only that the policy exists, is in force, and is open to inspection.
