Income and composition must be reexamined at least once every 12 months
mod_rehab.recertification.annual · v1.0.0
The PHA must reexamine the income and composition of all families at least once every 12 months, make appropriate adjustments in the Total Tenant Payment after consultation with the family and verification of the information, determine whether the family's unit size is still appropriate, and adjust Tenant Rent and the Housing Assistance Payment to reflect any change in Total Tenant Payment. At the annual reexamination the PHA must require the family to disclose and verify Social Security Numbers.
882.515 was rewritten by the HOTMA final rule at 88 FR 9667, effective 1 January 2024. Mod Rehab uses the HUD-50058 family report, not the HUD-50059, because it is administered by a PHA under PIH rules even though the property looks like project-based Section 8.
