Only three classes of project may receive Rental Assistance, and on-farm labor housing is not one of them

Rural Development Rental Assistance may be obligated only to a housing project that operates under an Interest Credit Plan II RA agreement, a project financed with an Agency OFF-farm labor housing loan or grant, or a project financed with a direct or insured Rural Rental Housing loan approved before 1 August 1968 and operated under an interest credit agreement identifying it as a Plan RA project. Projects financed from Agency and other sources qualify where 7 CFR 3560.66 is met. On-farm labor housing is expressly not eligible for Rental Assistance. A borrower may not request RA for any rental unit the Agency determines is not habitable under 7 CFR 3560.103.
