Rental Assistance assigned to a sitting tenant mid-month does not reduce rent until the first of the next month
rd521.subsidy_calculation.mid_month_assignment_takes_effect_the_following_month · v1.0.0
Where a Rental Assistance unit is assigned to an eligible EXISTING tenant on a day other than the first of a month, the Agency will not provide the borrower Rental Assistance for that newly assigned tenant and the tenant does not pay reduced rental charges until the first of the month following the assignment. Where instead an eligible APPLICANT moves into a Rental Assistance unit on a day other than the first of a month, that household pays a prorated rent based on the number of days it occupies the unit and the amount of Rental Assistance it will receive. The distinction is between a sitting tenant, who waits, and a new move-in, who is prorated.
