Admission to a Section 202 direct loan (202/8) assisted unit requires an elderly or handicapped family that is eligible under 24 CFR part 5 subpart F

The borrower is responsible for determining whether applicants are eligible for admission and for selecting families. To be eligible for admission an applicant must be an elderly or handicapped family as defined in 24 CFR 891.505, must meet any project occupancy requirements approved by HUD, must meet the Social Security Number disclosure and verification requirements and sign and submit consent forms for obtaining wage and claim information from State Wage Information Collection Agencies under 24 CFR part 5 subpart B, and, if applying for an assisted unit, must be eligible for admission under 24 CFR part 5 subpart F, which governs selection of tenants and occupancy requirements. The VAWA protections of 24 CFR part 5 subpart L apply to admission decisions.
