24 CFR part 5 subpart G applies the national standards for the physical inspection of real estate to the Section 202 direct loan program for projects for the elderly and persons with disabilities as it existed before October 1, 1991, including 202/8 projects and 202/162 projects, and separately to all project-based Section 8 programs. The inside, outside and units must be functionally adequate, operable and free of health and safety hazards, and each deficiency is classified Life Threatening, Severe, Moderate or Low. An inspection must be conducted no earlier than 3 months before and no later than 3 months after the anniversary of the previous inspection, on a three-year, two-year or annual cycle according to whether the property last scored 90 or above, 80 or above, or below 80.
