Owners must run the EIV Existing Tenant Search when screening applicants and the EIV Multiple Subsidy Report to find tenants assisted at more than one location

Owners must use the EIV Existing Tenant Search when screening applicants in order to search for applicants who may be receiving assistance at another location, and must use the EIV Multiple Subsidy Report to search for tenants who may be receiving assistance at more than one location or under more than one HUD rental assistance programme. A current form HUD-9887 is not required to be on file to use the EIV verification reports, including the Existing Tenant Search for applicants, which is why the search is available at the applicant stage when the EIV Income Report is not.
Both reports were added by Change 4. They are the only EIV tools the handbook makes available at the APPLICANT stage, because the Income Report is tenant-only.
