Units assisted with Section 811 Project Rental Assistance must be operated as supportive housing for persons with disabilities for not less than 30 years

In the case of any project for which project rental assistance is provided under 42 U.S.C. 8013(b)(3), the dwelling units assisted must be operated for not less than 30 years as supportive housing for persons with disabilities, in accordance with the application for the project approved by the Secretary, and during that period must be made available for occupancy only by extremely low-income persons with disabilities and extremely low-income households that include at least one person with a disability. The 30-year term is a use restriction on the units, not a term of the assistance contract, and it runs longer than the initial contract term of not less than 180 months.
