s811prac.recertification.annual_reexamination · v1.0.0
The owner must reexamine the income and composition of the household at least every 12 months. On verification the owner must make appropriate adjustments in the total tenant payment in accordance with 24 CFR 5.657, adjust the tenant rent, and request an appropriate adjustment to the project rental assistance payment. The owner must also determine whether the household's unit size is still appropriate, carry out any unit transfer in accordance with HUD standards, and require the household to meet the Social Security Number disclosure and verification requirements of 24 CFR part 5 subpart B. Between annual reexaminations the household must comply with 24 CFR 5.657 on interim reporting, and any change producing an adjustment in total tenant payment, tenant rent or the PRAC payment must be verified. The owner may elect the streamlined income determination at 24 CFR 5.657(d) for families receiving fixed income, in which case third-party verification of all income amounts is still required every 3 years.
