The AFHMP must be reviewed every five years and updated when the market, the Consolidated Plan or the demographics change

xp.afhm.five_year_review_and_update · v1.0.0

The owner must review its affirmative fair housing marketing plan every five years, and also whenever the local Community Development jurisdiction's Consolidated Plan is updated or there are significant changes in the demographics of the project or of the local housing market area. The review must consider whether the population least likely to apply is still the one the plan identifies and whether the advertising sources named in the plan are still appropriate. Even where the demographics have not changed, the owner must determine whether the outreach actually being performed is reaching those it is intended to reach, as measured by project occupancy and applicant data; if it is not, the plan must be updated. A revised plan must be submitted to HUD for approval. Where the review concludes no revision is needed, the owner must keep a file documenting what was reviewed, what was found, and why no revision was made.
