Reasonable modifications of the premises must be permitted at the requester's expense
xp.fair_housing.reasonable_modification_at_requester_expense · v1.0.0
It is unlawful to refuse to permit, at the expense of the person with a disability, reasonable modifications of existing premises occupied or to be occupied by that person, where the modification may be necessary to afford full enjoyment of the premises. Under the Fair Housing Act the duty is to PERMIT the work, not to perform or fund it; the cost falls on the requester. This is the point at which Fair Housing Act and Section 504 obligations diverge on a federally assisted property.
