Each recipient must evaluate its policies and practices against the requirements of 24 CFR part 8, after consultation with interested persons including individuals with disabilities or organisations representing them, modify any policy or practice that does not meet them, and take corrective steps to remedy the discrimination the evaluation reveals. A recipient that employs fifteen or more persons must, for at least three years after completing the evaluation, keep on file, make available for public inspection, and provide to the responsible civil rights official on request: the list of interested persons consulted, a description of the areas examined and any problems identified, and a description of the modifications made and remedial steps taken.
